By Air

There are frequent direct flights from main international hubs including Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris, Geneva and Frankfurt, and direct long-haul services to the USA, Canada and the Middle East.

The journey from the airport to the city centre is only 8 miles (12km) with frequent connecting services by Airlink bus, tram or taxi and a journey time of approximately 30 minutes.

By Rail

If you are travelling to Edinburgh by rail, there are two city centre train stations, Edinburgh Waverley and Edinburgh Haymarket, which are linked to all major cities and airports in Britain, with a high-speed link from London in just over four hours.

Local Travel

Once you arrive in the city, again there are several options with Council licensed taxi operators, an award-winning public bus service operating a frequent timetable and Edinburgh’s modern new tram system.
